Public Administration and Security Committee reviews 4·3 Special Act
If passed, final session to take place on Feb. 26

The amendment to the 4·3 Special Act, which has passed the National Assembly’s Legislation Review Subcommittee, will be submitted to the Public Administration and Security Committee on the 18th.

Representatives from the office of Oh Young-hun, a legislator from the Democratic Party of Korea, released a statement that the revision of the 4.3 Special Act, which was originally scheduled to be introduced on the 17th, will be presented at the general meeting of the Public Administration and Security Committee on the 18th. It was also clarified that the one-day delay was made at the request of the opposition.

Although both parties agreed on a special retrial and compensation payments, there is some disagreement over additional fact-finding, so it is expected to be an area of conflict during the review.

If the amendment passes the standing committee meeting, it will be finalized at the plenary session of the National Assembly on the 26th after passing through the Legislative and Judiciary Committee on the 24th.

특별 재심과 위자료 지급 등에는 여야가 합의했지만,
추가 진상조사를 놓고 다소 이견을 보이고 있어서
행안위 심사에서도 쟁점이 될 전망입니다.

4.3 특별법 개정안이
상임위원회 전체 회의를 통과하면
24일 법제사법위원회를 거쳐 26일 국회 본회의에서 최종 처리됩니다.
