New school semester commences at 2/3 capacity
Grades K-2 and high school seniors will attend classes every day
Schools will be open in the new semester, but with restrictions on student density.
The Jeju Provincial Office of Education announced their plan for public schools in the upcoming school year, and advised elementary schools with more than 900 students, along with middle and high schools with more than 700 students to only allow two-thirds of their student population on campus for classes.
Elementary schools with less than 600 students and middle and high schools with less than 500 students will be permitted to offer in-person classes at 100% capacity.
Exceptions will apply to kindergarten through second grade, as well as high school seniors, who will attend on-campus classes every day. The lower grades will only switch to virtual learning in the case of an upgrade to level 2 social distancing, and seniors will go online only when level 2.5 is enforced.
