PoE places restrictions on matriculation ceremonies
Schools with 50+ incoming freshmen must exclude parents

Convocation ceremonies at schools welcoming new students will be held without parents due to COVID-19 precautions.

The Jeju Provincial Office of Education has released a guideline for preparing for the new school year, which states that schools with more than 50 incoming freshmen may hold their welcoming ceremony with only students and school officials in attendance. Under the guideline, parents would not be permitted.

However, in schools with less than 50 incoming new students, parents will be allowed to attend as long as the total number of attendees is less than 100.

신입생이 50명이 넘는 학교에서는
학부모 없이 신입생과 학교 관계자만 참석한 가운데
입학식을 진행합니다.

단 신입생이 50명 이내의 학교에서는
학부모를 포함한 100명 이내 규모로 진행할 수 있도록 했습니다.
