4·3 Special Act Revision passes Public Administration and Security Committee
Legislation and Judiciary Committee review to take place on Feb. 24

The April 3rd Special Act Revision has passed the National Assembly’s Public Administration and Security Committee.

The committee held a general meeting on the 18th where the revision bill, which had already passed the review of the Legislative Subcommittee, was brought in and passed.

The revision bill states that additional fact-finding investigations will be conducted, as well as the establishment of a subcommittee under the April 3rd Special Committee that will be responsible for the investigations. The revision also declares that research must be carried out for victims’ compensation along with a compensation plan.

The amendment will be brought into a regular session of the National Assembly on the 26th after review by the Legislation and Judiciary Committee on the 24th.

4.3 특별법 개정안을 그대로 상정해 의결했습니다.

개정안에는 4.3 사건 추가 진상조사와
4.3 위원회에 추가진상소위원회를 구성하고
위자료 지급을 위한 연구용역을 수행해 지원 방안을 마련한다는
내용 등이 담겨 있습니다.

오는 24일 법사위를 거쳐 26일 본회의에 상정될 예정입니다.
