10th anniversary ceremony held in commemoration of Japan’s earthquake
Yoshiyasu Iseki, Consul-General of Japan shared words of gratitude

On the 11th, the Consulate-General of Japan in Jeju hosted an event to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Great East Japan Earthquake at the Maison Glad Jeju Hotel in Yeon-dong, Jeju City.

The event was held to express gratitude for the humanitarian aid of Jeju Island, looking back 10 years after the Great East Japan Earthquake on March 11, 2011.

During the meeting, Consul-General Yoshiyasu Iseki said that Japan suffered a lot of damage from the earthquake, but the recovery was possible because of the warm support from Jeju Island and fellow countries around the world.

Governor Won said at the event that he hoped that the cooperative relationship between Jeju and Japan would deepen, leading to warm relations between Korea and Japan.

동일본 대지진 10주년 행사를 열었습니다.

행사는
지난 2011년 3월 11일
동일본 대지진 발생 이후 10년을 돌아보며
당시 제주도의 인도주의적 지원에 대한 감사를 전하기 위해 열렸습니다.

이 자리에서
이세키 요시야스 주제주일본국 총영사는
대지진으로 인해 일본은 큰 피해를 입었지만
복구가 가능했던 것은
제주도를 비롯한
전 세계의 따뜻한 지원이 있었기 때문이라고 말했습니다.

원희룡 지사도 행사에 참석해
제주도와 일본의 미래 지향적이고
우호 협력적인 관계가 더 돈독해져
얼어붙은 한일관계에 훈풍을 불어넣길 바란다고 밝혔습니다.
