Revised 4·3 Special Act passed State Council
Implementation starts from June

The revised Jeju April 3rd Special Act, which was processed by the National Assembly, has been passed by the State Council and will be implemented starting June.

The government held a State Council meeting at the Seoul Government Complex on the 16th and passed the revisions made to the April 3rd Special Act, which was proposed by National Assembly members (오영훈) Oh Young-hun of the Democratic Party and (이명수) Lee Myoung-su of the People Power Party.

Accordingly, the revised special law will take effect in June, three months after the promulgation.

The special law includes special retrial procedures, compensation clauses, additional fact-finding investigations, and a project of trauma treatment.

정부는 16일 정부서울청사에서 국무회의를 열어
민주당 오영훈 의원과
국민의힘 이명수 의원이 각각 대표발의한
4.3특별법 개정안을 의결했습니다.

이에 따라
개정된 특별법은
공포 이후 3개월이 지난
오는 6월부터 본격 시행됩니다.

이번 특별법에는
수형인 특별재심 규정과
피해 보상을 위한 위자료 지급,
추가진상조사,
트라우마 치유사업 조항 등이 담겨 있습니다.
