Last year, the number of marriages in Jeju fell below 3,000, the lowest figure ever recorded.

According to the National Statistical Office data, the number of marriages in Jeju last year stood at 2,981, which was a decrease of 11.2 percent compared to the previous year.

This is the first time that the number of marriages falls below 3,000 since the statistical data was collected.

Experts analyze that the decrease is attributed to the delay or cancellation of marriages due to COVID-19.

지난해 혼인건수가 줄어든 것은
