Recycling campaign increases participation
9,700 garbage bags distributed in last 2 months

The recycling compensation system, which supplies standard plastic garbage bags to those who discharge recyclable materials, is gaining popularity.

Jeju City announced that 10 tons of recyclable waste, such as plastic bottles and waste batteries, have been collected at recycling centers since the system was implemented in January.
Also, 9,700 10-liter standard garbage bags were distributed in the last two months.

The municipal office distributed 4,500 bags in January and 5,200 bags in February.

Jeju City is implementing a compensation system in which 10-liter standard garbage bags are provided when recyclable waste such as cans and transparent bottles are disposed of at a Recycling Center.


6. 재활용품 배출하면 '종량제 봉투' 지급…보상제 '호응'

재활용품을 배출하면
종량제 봉투를 주는 수거 보상제가 호응을 얻고 있습니다.

제주시는
지난 1월부터 수거보상제를 시행한 이후
2달 동안 페트병과 폐건전지 같은
재활용 쓰레기 10톤이 재활용센터로 수거됐고
10리터짜리 종량제봉투 9천 7백장을
전달했다고 밝혔습니다.

특히 시행 첫달인 1월에는 4천 5백여 장
2월에는 5천 2백 장을 지급하면서
제도 홍보 효과도 나타나고 있다고
평가했습니다.

제주시는
캔이나 투명 페트병 같은 재활용 쓰레기를
재활용 도움센터에 배출하면
10리터 짜리 종량제 봉투를 지급하는
수거 보상제를 시행하고 있습니다.
