Jeju apartment prices rebound
Signs of overheating in presale housing market

Amid the recent rebound in apartment prices in Jeju, the presale market is showing signs of overheating.

According to the Korea Housing & Urban Guarantee Corporation, the average sale price of private apartments in the province as of February was 5.2 million won per square meter, which was the second-highest in the country following Seoul.

The increase rate in presale prices in Jeju was also the second-highest in the country following Ulsan City, with a rise of 31% from the previous year.

Despite the controversy over the increase in prices, apartments developed on private estates are excluded from the limitation policy on sale prices. Meanwhile some are pointing out the need for restriction on purchase right resale.
