Report
This is a store for Jeju specialties operated by the Jeju Business Agency.
The JBA, which is funded by the province, displays and sells the island’s specialties of fresh and processed foods.
The shop is trusted by consumers and provides competitive prices.
But access to Jeju specialties is limited, since the firm has only a handful shops, including one in Jeju.
To make up for this limitation, the JBA has announced it will launch an overnight delivery service.
If an order is placed before 4 p.m. the previous day, customers will be able to expect the deliveries by 8 a.m..
The first phase will begin in April with service for consumers in Jeju and Seoul.
Twenty-two fresh food items including carrots, pork and hairtail, as well as processed foods, will soon be available for express delivery.
The scope of available items and regions will be gradually expanded.
The JBA is reviewing offering discounts when customers pay online using Jeju’s local currency, the (탐나는전) Tamnaneunjeon.
Large-scale distributors like Coupang are expanding their delivery services with overnight deliveries or shipments in under three hours.
The island’s public distributor is following suit, getting in on the race to attract customers.
