Seniors receiving Pfizer vaccines
Residents aged 75 or older are currently being vaccinated

Starting from April 1st, the first COVID-19 vaccination is underway for senior citizens aged 75 or older in the province.

According to the province, 650 seniors in Ildo-dong, who made a reservation have begun to receive the Pfizer vaccine at the Halla Gymnasium which is currently operating as a vaccination center in Jeju City.

A total of 974 vials of Pfizer vaccine has been secured so far, which will cover for 2,925 residents.

The provincial government plans to inoculate elderly people in Dong-administrative districts in Jeju City first, which has a high population density and a large proportion of COVID-19 cases.

Meanwhile, a 77-year-old female surnamed Kim showed consciousness disorders after receiving a Pfizer vaccine on the morning of the 1st, and was transferred to a hospital.

Fortunately, this incident was not life-threatening. She has a history of allergic reactions to contrast agents.

도내 만 75살 이상 어르신을 대상으로
첫 코로나19 백신 접종이 시작됐습니다.

제주도에 따르면
1일 접종 대상자는 사전 예약한
만 75살 이상의 일도동 어르신 650명으로,
제주시예방접종센터인 한라체육관에서
화이자 백신 접종이 이뤄졌습니다.

지금까지 확보된 화이자 백신 물량은 975 바이알로
2천 925명이 두 번 접종받을 수 있는 양입니다.

제주도는 앞으로
코로나 확진자 비율과 인구 수가 많은
제주시 동지역 어르신을 우선으로 순차적으로 접종할 계획입니다.

한편, 1일 오전 코로나19 화이자 백신을 맞은 77 살 김 모 할머니가
접종 후 대기장소에 머물던 중
의식 저하 등의 이상반응을 보여 병원으로 옮겨지기도 했습니다.

다행히 김 할머니는 생명에는 지장이 없으며
과거 조영제 알레르기 반응을 보인 적이 있던 것으로 알려졌습니다
