Jeju records 880,000 domestic tourists in March
Province recovers 85% of tourists during pre-COVID 19 era

It was reported that the number of Korean tourists who visited Jeju last month recovered to 85% of the number of tourists in 2019.

According to the Jeju Tourism Association, 880,000 Korean tourists visited Jeju in March, which is 85% of the 1.03 million tourists who visited in 2019 before the COVID 19 era.

In particular, the demand for luxury hotels has increased as newlyweds who are unable to travel abroad due to COVID 19 are turning to Jeju island.

On the other hand, the number of foreign tourists has recorded a negative of more than 90% compared to the previous year, since the visa-waiver program had been halted in February last year.

지난 3월 제주를 찾은 내국인 관광객은 88만여 명으로,
코로나19 여파가 없던 지난 2019년 103만 명의
85% 수준으로 집계됐습니다.

특히 봄 웨딩시즌과 맞물려
코로나19로 해외여행길이 막힌 신혼부부들의 발길이 이어지면서
특급호텔을 중심으로 수요가 늘고 있습니다.

한편 외국인 관광객은
무사증 입국이 중단된 지난해 2월부터
줄곧 전년대비 90% 이상의 마이너스 행보를
이어가고 있습니다.
