Outdoor-grown mandarin orange trees to bloom 10 days earlier
Agricultural technology center urges farmers to control pests

Due to the rise in spring temperatures, attention is required to control pests as the flowering of outdoor-grown mandarin oranges is expected to accelerate by more than 10 days.

Seogwipo Agricultural Technology Center analyzed that the flowering of the mandarins will be around 10 days earlier as the temperatures last month were around 2 degrees celsius higher than average, and temperatures this month was also higher than the previous year.

The trees are expected to begin blooming by the end of this month in Seogwipo city.

The Seogwipo Agricultural Technology Center reminds farmers to pay special attention to pest control as fruit drops and diseases may occur following the blooming season.


3. 노지감귤 개화 10일 빨라…"방제 신경써야"

10일 이상 빨라질 것으로 예상돼 병해충 방제에 주의가 요구됩니다.

서귀포농업기술센터는
지난달 기온이 평년보다 2도 정도 높았고
이달 기온도 전년보다 높음에 따라 노지감귤 개화가 10일 이상
빠를 것으로 분석했습니다.

특히 16일 중문 해안지역에서 개화가 시작돼
이달 말에는 서귀포 전 지역에서 개화가 이루어질 것으로 예상됩니다.

서귀포농업기술센터는 개화기 이후 낙과와 병해충 피해가
발생할 수 있는 만큼 방제에 신경써줄 것을 당부했습니다.
