55-year old assaulter sentenced 1 year prison, 2 years of probation

Judge (이장욱) Lee Jang-wook of the Jeju District Court sentenced a 55-year-old defendant to a one-year prison term and a two-year probation for assaulting people with a blunt weapon on a road in Jeju City last November.

The asserter hit a neighbor with a chair leg and the wife of the neighbor was also hit as she tried to stop the assaulter. The defendant assaulted the neighbor as he made eye contact.

Judge Lee ruled that although the crime constituted poor behavior, the defendant is reflecting on his crime and both victims do not wish for punishment.

이웃주민을 둔기로 폭행하는가 하면
이를 말리던
피해자의 부인과 행인에게도 폭력을 휘두른 혐의로 기소된
55살 고 모 피고인에게
징역 1년에 집행유예 2년을 선고했습니다.

이 판사는 판결문에서
범행의 죄질이 불량하지만 반성하고 있고
피해자 모두 처벌을 원치 않고 있어 이같이 선고한다고 판시했습니다.
