Full-scale investigation into electric rental cars
Penalty to be applied on vehicles not in use.

The province is conducting a full investigation into electric rental cars.

In order to come up with solutions to resolve issues regarding suspended and neglected electric vehicles by rental car businesses that have received subsidies for their purchases, the province announced that it would initiate an annual assessment to check the operation status.

In particular, based on the results of the full investigation, they plan to set up penalties such as limiting electric vehicle subsidies if electric vehicles are not put into use and neglected.

Since 2016, approximately 4,140 electric vehicles have been supplied to rental car companies in the province, and around 2,300 are currently in operation at 86 companies.

제주도가 전기렌터카에 대한 전수조사에 나섭니다.

제주도는 전기차 구매보조금을 지원받았지만
경영난 등으로 휴차 또는 방치하는 사례가 나타남에 따라
해결 방안을 마련하기 위해 매년 운행상황 등을 점검한다고 밝혔습니다.

특히 전수조사 결과를 토대로
전기차를 방치한 경우 전기차 보조금 제한 등 패널티 대책을
마련할 계획입니다.

도내 렌터카 업체에 보급된 전기차는
지난 2016년부터 86개 업체에 4천140여 대로
현재는 2천300여 대가 운행되고 있습니다.
