Number of start-ups plunges by 22%
Province shows third higher drop in the country

The number of start-ups in Jeju dropped significantly in one year.

According to the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, there were 5,148 start-ups in the province in the first quarter of this year, which was a decrease of 1,975 or 22% from the same period last year.

This decline is the third-highest among 17 cities and provinces in the country after Sejong City and Daejeon City.

By industry, the real estate industry marked the biggest decline, falling more than 70% from the same period last year.

올 1분기 제주지역 창업기업은 5천148개로
지난해 같은 기간보다 1천975개, 22% 감소했습니다.

이 같은 감소폭은 전국 17개 시·도 가운데
세종시와 대전에 이어 3번째로 높은 것입니다.

업종별로는 부동산업이
전년 같은 기간보다 70% 이상 줄어 감소폭을 주도했습니다.
