Online shopping scammer to serve in prison
28-year-old man sentenced to 8 months in jail

Judge (이장욱) Lee Jang-wook of the Jeju District Court sentenced a 28-year-old defendant, surnamed Kim, to eight months prison term for an alleged online shopping scam on the 3rd.

The man made fake listings of MacBooks, watches, iPads on second-hand online markets from February of last year. 16 victims have wired 20 million won to Kim in total.

Judge Lee justified the sentence saying that there were several victims and that the defendant didn’t reach settlement with most of the victims.

각종 물건을 파는 것 처럼 속여
모두 16명에게 2천여만원을 받아 가로챈 혐의로 기소된
28살 김 모 피고인에게
징역 8월을 선고했습니다.

이 판사는 판결문에서
피해자가 다수인데다 죄질이 불량한 점,
대부분 합의되지 않아 이같이 선고한다고 판시했습니다.
