Report
This is the (한담) Handam coastal trail in (애월) Aewol.
The walkway along the shore is one of the top attractions in Jeju.
But at the moment, access to the cliff and the walkway is restricted.
Big rocks have fallen from the cliff onto the trail, and rock debris is scattered around.
A part of the cliff near the coastal walkway has collapsed.
It would have been extremely dangerous if there were trekkers on site.
There has been a warning sign of a rockslide near the cliff.
Recent frequent rainfall seems to have weakened the bed and triggered the rockslide.
Visitors feel uncomfortable observing the scene.
As the walkway is a part of the Olle Trail, the Jeju Olle Foundation has created a temporary detour.
As the (한담) Handam coastal trail is a popular spot among tourists and Olle trekkers,
further measures to prevent accidents are urgently needed for safety.
