15 additional COVID-19 variant infections confirmed
14 out of 15 infected with alpha mutations from the UK

An additional 15 cases of the mutant corona virus variant infection have been confirmed in Jeju.

14 of them were infected with alpha variants from the UK, and the other was infected with delta variant from India, which is known to have very strong transmissibility.

The cumulative number of confirmed cases of the coronavirus variants in the province has increased to a total of 104.

It is estimated that 239 coronavirus patients have epidemiological relationships with COVID-19 variant patients, accounting for 32.3% of all confirmed cases since February when the investigation on variant infection began.

감염 사례 15건이 추가로 확인됐습니다.

이 가운데 14명은 영국발 알파 변이 감염자,
나머지 1명은 전파력이 매우 강한 것으로 알려진
인도발 델타 변이 감염자입니다.

이들 가운데 2명은
제주시 일가족 집단 감염 확진자이며
나머지 13명은 모두 개별 사례로 파악됐습니다.

이로써 도내 변이 바이러스 확진자는
누적 104명으로 늘었습니다.

또 역학적 연관성이 있는
감염자는 239명으로 추정되며,
변이 바이러스 분석을 시작한 지난 2월 이후
전체 확진자의 32.3%에 달하는 것으로 집계됐습니다.
