65-year-old woman dies after receiving AstraZeneca vaccine
Epidemiological research is underway

A woman in her 60s died in the province after being vaccinated against COVID-19, and quarantine authorities have started an epidemiological investigation.

According to the provincial office, a 65-year-old woman died on June 30 after showing symptoms of vomiting and cerebral hemorrhage after receiving the first dose of AstraZeneca vaccine at a hospital in Jeju city on the 7th of last month.

Her bereaved family said that the woman did not have any underlying diseases and that she showed abnormal symptoms after vaccination, and filed a petition on the Blue House National Petition website.

Meanwhile, among the eight deaths linked to COVID-19 vaccines reported in Jeju so far, this is the first time that a death linked to an AstraZeneca vaccine has occurred.

제주도 등에 따르면 65살 여성 A씨는 지난 달 7일,
제주시내 한 병원에서 아스트라제네카 백신 1차 접종을 마친 뒤
구토와 몸살, 뇌출혈 증세 등을 보이다가
6월 30일 숨진 것으로 알려졌습니다.

유족들은 A씨는 평소 기저질환이 없었고
백신 접종 후 이상 증세를 보였다며 청와대 국민청원 게시판에 청원을 올리기도 했습니다.

한편, 지금까지 제주에서 백신 관련 사망신고 8건 가운데
아스트라 제네카 관련 사망자가 발생한 건 이번이 처음입니다.
