Decision on 2nd airport to be made based on environmental assessment results

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced that it will make a final decision on the construction of the second airport based on the results of the Ministry of Environment's strategic environmental impact assessment review.

At a press conference, Minister Roh Hyeong-uk said that the assessment has been completed,and related materials have been submitted accordingly to the Ministry of Environment. He added that a final decision on the direction of the project would be made after reviewing the assessment results released by the Ministry of Environment and consulting with relevant agencies.



5. "환경영향평가 검토 결과 토대로 2공항 결정"

행정 절차가 늦어지고 있는 제2공항 건설과 관련해
국토교통부가 환경부의 전략환경영향평가
검토 결과를 토대로 결정하겠다고 밝혔습니다.

노형욱 국토부 장관은 기자간담회를 통해
환경부 요구에 따른 행정절차 이행으로
전략환경영향평가 재보완이 완료돼 관련 자료를 제출했다며
앞으로 평가 결과 등을 종합적으로 검토한 뒤
관계기관과 협의해
사업추진 방향을 결정하겠다고 말했습니다.

이와함께 현재 국토부가 수립 중인
제6차 공항개발 종합계획과 관련해 제2공항은
환경영향평가와
지역주민의 상반된 의견 등에 대해
판단을 해야 한다며 즉답을 피했습니다.
