Identity thief sentenced to 6 months in prison with 1 year probation
Illegal use of acquaintance’s alien registration card

Judge (이장욱) Lee Jang-wook of the Jeju District Court, sentenced a 36-year-old defendant accused of purchasing a boarding pass using an acquaintance's alien registration card at Jeju Port last February to six months in prison and one year probation.

The defendant tried to escape once his or her offenses were detected.

The judge based his decision on the fact that the suspect had no history of past offenses and that the defendant reflected on his or her mistake.



3. 외국인등록증 부정사용 승선권 구입 '징역형'

지난 2월 제주항 연안 여객선 터미널 매표소에서
지인의 외국인등록증을 이용해
승선권을 구입하고
이같은 사실이 발각되자 도주한 혐의로 기소된
36살 판 모 피고인에게 징역 6월에 집행유예 1년을 선고했습니다.

이 판사는 판결문에서
국내에서 처벌전력이 없는 점,
자신의 잘못을 인정하고 반성하고 있어
이같이 선고한다고 판시했습니다.
