Drinking and eating prohibited at Iho Beach
Violators will face fines up to ￦100,000

Night-time drinking and eating are prohibited at Iho Beach in Jeju City.

With a rise in the number of vacationers flocking to Iho Beach and a slack in quarantine measures in the area, Jeju City announced that the administrative order will be applied from 10 p.m. on the 26th.

Violation of the tightened rules will result in a fine of up to 100,000 won.

Since this administrative order applies only to the white sand beach, some expressed their concern on possible balloon effects that may take place at nearby piers and campsites.

On average approximately 4,000 people visit Iho Beach per day, and around 200 to 300 people drink and eat at the shores during the night time.




6. 이호해수욕장 백사장서 음주·취식 금지

제주시 이호해수욕장 백사장에서 야간에 음주와 취식 행위가 금지됩니다.

제주시는 이호해수욕장에 피서객이 몰리며
방역이 느슨해짐에 따라 이 같은 내용의 행정명령을 발동하고
26일 밤 10시부터 적용한다고 밝혔습니다.

이를 위반할 경우 10만 원 이하의 과태료가 부과됩니다.

하지만 이번 행정명령은 백사장에만 적용되는 것이어서
해수욕장 부근 방파제나 야영장 등지로
풍선 효과를 불러올 수 있다는 지적이 나오고 있습니다.

한편 이호해수욕장에는 하루 평균 4천명 정도의 이용객이 찾고 있으며
야간에도 200~300명이 음주와 취식 행위를 하는 것으로 파악됐습니다.
