Number of beachgoers surges by 40%
Urging people to abide by quarantine rules

Despite the continued spread of COVID-19, the number of visitors to beaches in the province is increasing significantly compared to the previous year.

According to the province, the cumulative number of visitors to the 12 designated beaches in the province that opened last month was 524,000, an increase of 43% from the same period last year.

Hamdeok Beach has the most with 134,000,
followed by Iho Beach with 64,000 and Jungmun Beach with 61,000.

As a large number of tourists flock to the beach,
concerns over possible cluster infections at local beaches are growing. Quarantine authorities are urging beachgoers to strictly follow quarantine regulations such as wearing masks and social distancing.

코로나19 확산세에도 휴가철을 맞아
제주도내 해수욕장 이용객이 전년보다 크게 늘고 있습니다.

제주도에 따르면
지난 달 개장한 도내 12개 지정 해수욕장의 누적 이용객은
52만 4천여 명으로
지난해 같은 기간보다 43% 늘었습니다.

함덕해수욕장이 13만 4천여 명으로 가장 많고,
이호 6만 4천 명,
중문해수욕장 6만 1천여 명 등입니다.

피서객과 관광객이 해수욕장으로 대거 몰리면서
코로나19 연쇄감염에 대한 우려가 커진 만큼
방역 당국은 마스크 착용과 거리두기 같은
방역수칙을 철저히 지켜달라고 당부하고 있습니다.
