Seobu Middle School passes central investment review
School to open with 30 classes for 840 students

Following the approval by the national government’s central investment review, Jeju Provincial Office of Education’s project on establishing Seobu Middle School is expected to accelerate.

The PoE announced that the Ministry of Education performed a central investment review on the 28th of last month and approved the establishment of the Seobu Middle School.

The Ministry of Education proposed safety measures for students, such as improving pedestrian paths around the school and securing bus routes.

Seobu Middle School aims to open in March 2024 with 30 classes for 840 students on a 25,000 square meter site in (외도동) Oedo-dong, Jeju City.

제주도교육청이 추진 중인 가칭 서부중학교 설립 계획이
정부 중앙투자심사를 통과하면서 사업이 속도를 낼 전망입니다.

제주도교육청은 지난 달 28일 실시된
교육부의 중앙투자심사에서
서부중학교 신설에 대해 설립 승인을 받았다고 밝혔습니다.

교육부는 부대 의견으로
학교 주변 보행로 개선과 버스노선 확보 같은
학생 통학안전대책을 제시했습니다.

정부 문턱을 넘은 서부중학교는
제주시 외도동 2만 5천여 제곱미터 부지에
30개 학급, 840여 명 규모로
2024년 3월 개교를 목표로 하고 있습니다.
