On the 3rd, a provincial councilor pointed out the need to increase the capacity of COVID-19 testing.

Provincial councilor (이승아) Lee Seung-a stated that the recent cluster infection outbreak that occurred at a large store caused many people to experience inconvenience when they had to wait long hours to get their COVID-19 tests as the province reached its maximum capacity and requested countermeasures to prevent such recurrence to the two city offices.

Lee emphasized the importance of raising the management efficiency of COVID-19 screening centers as high population density can cause additional coronavirus outbreaks. She also stressed the need for the Citizen Welfare Town to run a screening station separately, establishing drive-through testing clinics and notifying waiting time to receive tests as other other cities are demonstrating.

Following her comment, (이민철) Lee Min-cheol, the Head of the Jeju Public Health Center, stated that the center is under discussion with the province to establish mobile COVID-19 testing booths.


'진단검사 장시간 대기' 재발 방지 대책 주문

이승아 제주도의원은 예산결산특별위원회 2차 회의에서
지난 대형마트 집단감염이 발생했을 당시 진단검사 역량이 한계에 달하면서 도민들이 길에서 장시간 대기하는 불편을 겪었다며 각 행정시에 재발 방지 대책을 요구했습니다.

이 의원은 시민들이 밀집할수록 추가 감염 위험이 있는 만큼
시민복지타운 공간을 활용해 선별진료소를 분산하거나, 타 지자체처럼 드라이브 스루, 대기시간 알림 등을 통해 관리 효율을 높여야 한다고 강조했습니다.

이 같은 지적에 대해 이민철 제주보건소장은 제주도와 이동식 선별진료소 운영을 위한
논의를 진행하고 있다고 밝혔습니다.
