Local economic indicators deteriorate

Local economic indicators, including the status of employment and tourists, are deteriorating
due to strengthened quarantine measures
caused by continued social distancing measures.

According to the Jeju branch of Bank of Korea,
the number of tourists visiting Jeju last month
reached 986,000.
This is a 147,000 decrease
compared to the same period last year.

The number of domestic tourists
has increased since February, but it turned to a decrease
due to strengthened quarantine measures.

The total value of agricultural products
that were shipped last month
decreased by 3.6%
compared to the same period last year.

Local manufacturing production decreased by 1.1% in July,
especially for groceries and nonmetallic minerals.

주요 경제 지표에 적신호가 켜졌습니다.

한국은행 제주본부에 따르면
지난 달 제주 방문 관광객은 98만 6천명으로
지난해 같은 기간보다 14만 7천명 감소했습니다.

지난 2월 이후 증가세를 지속하던
내국인 관광객수가
방역강화 조치로 감소로 전환한 겁니다.

지난 달 농산물 출하액은 전년 같은 기간보다 3.6% 감소했습니다.

7월 기준 제조업 생산은
비금속 광물과 식료품을 중심으로 1.1% 감소했습니다.
