Violators caught near school zones

The total number of uncovered speeding violations that occurred especially near school zones in the province has surged.

According to police data submitted to the Democratic Party
lawmaker (한병도) Han Byung-do,
the total number of speeding violations
where fines were imposed near school zones
totaled to 51,700
from this January through June.

That is approximately 280 violations per day
and is three times more than last year
with 77 cases uncovered.

Some people attributed the reasons
for the increase in violations
due to the expansion of speeding cameras
and the fifty thirty(5030) speed policy.

제주에서 스쿨존 속도위반으로 저발되는 사례가
급증한 것으로 나타났습니다.

더불어민주당 한병도 국회의원이
경찰청으로부터 받아 공개한 자료에 따르면
올 들어 지난 6월까지 도내 스쿨존 속도위반으로
과태료가 부과된 건수는 5만1천700여 건에 달합니다.

이는 하루 평균 280여 건 수준으로,
지난해 77건에 비해 3배 이상 증가한 것입니다.

이처럼 스쿨존 속도위반 적발 건수가 늘어난 건
안전속도 5030 정책 시행과
무인단속장비 확충 등의 영향으로 풀이됩니다.
