Disorder behavior to be punished

Countermeasures are to be established to prevent and manage disorder behavior including homeless people from wandering the streets at Tamna Square in Jeju City.

Along with other organizations,
the Jeju Municipal Police will promptly
carry out actions and will seek measures,
including increasing the number of field employees
from two to five
and will conduct inspections once a week
with other related agencies.

In addition, legal grounds for crackdown in no drinking areas
will be established by creating a legal basis for punishment,
such as inserting a punishment clause.

Homeless people who seek shelter
on the streets at Tamna Square
have become a concern.
But no one is taking responsibility
resulting in the city having no
effective countermeasures.

제주시 탐라문화광장 노숙인 문제 등 무질서행위 근절을 위한
대책이 추진됩니다.

제주도자치경찰단은
우선 현장 근무인력을 2명에서 5명으로 증원하고
유관기관과 주 1회 합동순찰을 실시하는 등
신속한 현장조치와 함께 개선 방안을 공동 모색해 나가기로 했습니다.

이와함께 음주청정지역에 대한 단속근거 마련을 위해
관련 조례상 벌칙조항 신설을 추진하는 등 처벌근거를 마련할 방침입니다.

탐라광장 노숙인 등에 대한 문제는 여러 차례 제기됐지만
이를 총괄하는 부서가 없어 근본적인 대책이 어려운 실정입니다
