No genetic identifications made at excavation site
300 April 3rd victims are assumed to be buried

Lawmaker (오영훈) Oh Young-hun pointed out that the genetic identification process is not being followed through where remains of 300 April 3rd victims are assumed to be buried in (골령골) Golyong-gol, Daejeon City are being excavated.

According to data submitted
by the Ministry of Public Administration
and Security to lawmaker Oh,
700 remains have been excavated in the area from last year,
but no budget has been assigned to genetic identification
and the excavation project is not affiliated with any other organization.

After the Korean War, many prisoners at the (대전) Daejeon Correctional Institution and people who were wrongfully stigmatized as communists, including 300 missing people during April 3rd incident, were presumed to be murdered and buried in (골령골) Golyong-gol.



"4·3 유해 매장 추정 골령골, 유전자 감식 필요"

300여 명의 4.3 불법군사재판 희생자 유해가 매장돼 있을 것으로 추정되는 대전 골령골에서
유해 발굴사업이 진행되고 있지만
유전자 감식은 뒤따르지 않는다는 지적입니다.

더불어민주당 오영훈 의원이
행정안전부로부터 제출받은 자료에 따르면,
지난해부터 지금까지 골령골에서 유해 700여 구가 발굴됐지만
유전자 감식 예산은 책정돼 있지 않고
제주4.3 유해발굴 사업과도 연계되지 않고 있습니다.

골령골은 한국전쟁 발발 직후
대전형무소에 수감돼 있던 재소자와
좌익으로 몰린 민간인들이 집단학살돼
매장된 것으로 추정되는 곳이며
4.3 행방불명자 300명도 포함된 것으로 추정되고 있습니다.
