New high school established in Nohyeong
New school will accommodate 870 students

A new Co-ed high school is currently underway and will soon be founded in Nohyeong, Jeju City in March of 2025.

The superintendent of the Provincial Office of Education,
Lee Seok-moon announced in the morning of the 7th
that a coeducational high school will be founded
in Nohyeong-dong, Jeju City in March of 2025.

The new school will have 30 classes with 870 students.
By founding the new school in 2025,
the number of general high schools in
dong-administrative districts increases to 9.
In addition, the number of students per class reduces
to 28.6 from 30.7.

Lee emphasized that his office will put all the efforts and support
in the new school foundation to resolve issues of overcrowded classes.



노형동에 30학급 고등학교 신설…2025년 개교

오는 2025년 3월에
제주시 노형동에 고등학교가 새로 문을 엽니다.

이석문 교육감은
7일 오전 기자회견을 통해
제주시 노형동에
남녀 공학 고등학교 1개교를 신설해
2025년 3월 개교하겠다고 밝혔습니다.

신설 학교는 30학급에 전교생 870명 규모로
2025년 학교가 신설되면 제주시 동지역 평준화고는
9곳으로 늘어나고
학급당 학생수가 30.7명에서
28.6명으로 줄어들 것으로 예상됩니다.

이석문 교육감은
과밀학급 해소와 학급당 학생 수를 안정적으로 유지하기 위해
고등학교 신설에 모든 노력과 지원을 다하겠다고
강조했습니다.
