Installation of radar equipment in Hallasan halted
Concerns on environmental and illegal issues

KCTV Jeju exclusively reports on the installation of radar equipment in Hallasan Mountain, an absolute preservation area. The installation has been halted due to environmental concerns and illegal permission.

Seogwipo City announced that they have sent an official document
asking for postponement of the construction
to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
The city government said that they have made an agreement
to halt the construction.

Seogwipo City will order the halt after a prior notice for 15 days.

The members of the Environment & City Committee
of the provincial council visited
the construction site on the 15th
and urged construction work to be halted
until legal review will finish.

The provincial office has been criticized that its
lax administration led to illegal permission.


'절대보전' 한라산 레이더 공사 사실상 중단

서귀포시는 15일 오후 사업 발주처인 국토교통부와 시공사에
공사 보류를 요청하는 공문을 발송하고 당분간 작업을 중단하기로 협의했다고 밝혔습니다.

서귀포시는 조만간 15일 간의 사전예고를 거쳐 공사 중지 명령을 내린다는 계획입니다.

앞서 15일 오전 제주도의회 환경도시위원회는 서귀포시 색달동 1100고지 인근
삼형제큰오름 공사 현장을 찾아 법적 검토가 끝날 때까지 작업을 중단할 것을 촉구했습니다.

의원들은 최근 불거진 불법 허가 논란과 관련해
제주도의 허술한 행정 집행과 공론화 절차 없이 밀실행정을 비판했습니다.
