Local golf clubs record highest rise in taxes

The amount of taxes due continuously rises and local golf clubs have recorded the highest amount of local taxes in arrears.

According to the data of administrative affairs auditing,
the amount of unpaid taxes due reached 80.5 billion won this year.
That is an increase from 73.5 billion won last year
and 59 billion won in 2019.

In particular, golf courses take 30% of the total amount of unpaid taxes,
that is 22.5 billion won.

Following an Administrative Audit,
Provincial councilor (문종태) Moon Jong-tae stated that
stricter measures are needed for collecting taxes for local golf clubs
that are enjoying high profits during the COVID era.

The provincial government said that they will operate
a special period of collecting taxes
by the end of the year
and will try to communicate
with local golf courses to collect
unpaid taxes.

이월체납액 해마다 증가…'골프장 225억' 최다

징수하지 못한 세금이 해를 넘기는 이월체납액이
해마다 증가하는 가운데 도내 골프장이 가장 많은 체납액을 기록하고 있습니다.

제주도의회 행정사무감사 자료에 따르면 이월체납액은
2019년 590억 원에서 지난해 735억 원, 올해 805억 원으로 해마다 증가하고 있습니다.

특히 골프장 체납액이 전체 30% 이상인 225억 원에 이르는 것으로 확인됐습니다.
이와 관련해 문종태 의원은 제주도에 대한 행정사무감사에서
코로나19 시국에 호황을 누리는 골프장에 대해 강력한 징수 조치가 필요하다고 주문했습니다.

이에대해 제주도는 올 연말까지 특별 징수기간을 운영하고 특히 골프장에 대해서는 계속 대화를 시도해
최대한 징수하도록 노력하겠다고 답했습니다.
