Expansion to Preservation Areas
Preservation areas increase by 430,000 square meters

Absolute preservation areas where development is strictly prohibited will be expanded. The provincial government finalized a survey on conservation areas that is conducted every five years and the revisions to the plan will be disclosed to the public after November 15th.

The revised plan includes that absolute conservation areas
will increase by 430,000 square meters
and relative conservation areas will decrease
by 4,000 square meters.

Some of lava tubes and coastal dunes and detention ponds for disaster prevention are newly designated as absolute preservation areas.

Experts will inspect it during an open period and briefing session will be held in December, and then the procedure for consent by the provincial council will be followed.



'개발 제한' 절대보전지역 면적 확대…변경안 열람

개발행위가 엄격히 제한되는 절대보전지역 면적이 확대됩니다.

제주도는 5년 단위로 시행하는
보전지역 통합 정기조사를 마무리하고
변경안을 마련해
다음달 15일까지 일반에 공개하고 있습니다.

용역진이 제시한 변경안을 보면
절대보전지역은 기존보다 43만 제곱미터 늘고
상대보전지역은 4천여 제곱미터가 줄었습니다.

비지정 용암동굴과 해안사구, 재해방지 목적의 저류지 등이
절대보전지역으로 신규 지정되며 전체적인 면적이 늘었습니다.

제주도는 열람 기간 제시된 의견에 대해
전문가 정밀 검증을 거쳐
오는 12월 변경안에 대한 최종 보고회를 개최한 뒤
도의회 동의 절차를 밟을 계획입니다.
