New Breath Added to Seogwipo Downtown Area

Three walking paths of the (하영 올레) HaYoung Olle Trails opened this summer.
The paths snake through 22.8 kilometers of Seogwipo's neighborhoods, parks, streams, waterfalls and coasts.


As the nation's "living with COVID-19" scheme kicks off, Seogwipo City hosted a walking festival last week to welcome an increasing number of tourists.


Trekkers can get an authentic feeling of Seogwipo life on the neighborhood path.
At a park in the downtown area, (천지연) Cheonjiyeon Falls seen through the dense branches catch trekkers' eyes.
If they travel by car, the scenes would be missed.
Performances and hands-on programs wait for the trekkers on the course.


(하영올레) HaYoung Olle Trails are expected to be a night tour model in Seogwipo which lacks night tour resources.


The island hopes (하영올레) HaYoung Olle Trails to energize the old downtown area of Seogwipo under the "living with COVID-19" scheme.

서귀포시 원도심 활성화를 위해
3개 코스, 22.8km로 조성된 하영올레.

도심을 가로지르는 하천의 물길을 따라
인근 공원과 거리 등을 연결한
산책길이자 걷기 여행길입니다.

위드 코로나가 시행되며
더 많은 관광객이 제주를 찾을 것으로 예상되면서
서귀포시가 걷기대회 행사를 마련했습니다.

지역 토박이가 아니면
모를법한 원도심 골목으로
사람들의 발길이 이어집니다.

도심 속 공원에 들어서자
멀리 보이는 색다른 천지연폭포의 모습이
걷기대회 참가들의 발길을 붙잡습니다.

차를 타고 지나갔다면 볼 수 없는 풍경들입니다.

하영올레 중간중간에
다양한 공연과 체험행사도 마련됐습니다.

이뿐 아니라 하영올레는
그동안 야간 관광이 제한적이던 서귀포시에
새로운 관광모델로 자리잡을 것으로 기대되고 있습니다.

서귀포시 원도심 활성화를 위한 역할을 하게 될지 주목됩니다.
