Court Fines Telecommunications Worker

The Jeju District Court fined a 29-year-old defendant surnameed Ko 10 million won on the charge of illegally activating a SIM card seven times after receiving payments while working as an employee of a telecommunications company in December last year.

In a ruling, the court said that while the SIM cards that Ko activated were used in voice phishing, the amount of profits were not substantial
and the fact that Ko is regretting his wrongdoings are reflected in the determination of punishment.



불법 선불유심 개통 20대 통신사 직원 벌금형

제주지방법원 형사단독 김연경 부장판사는
지난해 12월,
모 통신사 직원으로 근무하면서
7차례에 걸쳐 돈을 받고 선불 유심을 개통해 준
혐의로 기소된 29살 고 모 피고인에게 벌금 1천만원을 선고했습니다.

김 판사는 판결문을 통해
피고인이 개통한 유심이 보이스피싱 범죄에 사용됐지만
이익이 크지 않고 반성하고 있는 점 등을 감안했다며
양형 이유를 설명했습니다.
