Decrease in International Marriages

The number of international marriages shows a decline due to the spread of COVID-19.

According to the Honam Regional Statistics Office,
the number of international marriages in Jeju last year was 266,
which is a 40% decrease and 182 less marriages compared to 2019.

Last year, the number of total marriages in Jeju decreased by 11%,
but international marriages showed much more decline.

The number of multicultural families, which reaches to 5,415 households, accounts for 2% of the total number of households
and the number of family members of
multicultural families is 17,626.

The birth rate of multicultural families accounts for 8.5%
of the total birth rate in Jeju, which is the second highest
figure followed by Chungcheongnam-do Province recording 9%.



코로나19로 해외교류 제한에 국제결혼 급감

코로나19 확산으로 국제결혼도 크게 줄어든 것으로 조사됐습니다.

호남지방통계청에 따르면 지난해 도내 다문화 혼인은 266건으로
코로나19 이전인 2019년과 비교해 182건, 40%나 감소했습니다.

지난해 제주지역 전체 혼인 건수가 전년보다 11% 감소한 것과 비교해 국제결혼이 상대적으로 크게 줄어든 겁니다.

제주 다문화 가구는 5천415가구로 전체 가구의 2%를 차지하고
다문화 가구원 수는 만7천626명으로 조사됐습니다.

특히 도내 전체 출생에서 다문화가정의 출생 비율은 8.5%로
9%를 기록한 충남에 이어 전국에서 두번째로 높습니다.
