Defendant using field illegally sentenced to two-year probation

The 61-year-old defendant Kim was sentenced to sixteen months in jail with a stay of execution for two years on the charges of using mountain land in Jeju City privately, including removing wild plants without an approval and for illegal piling of rocks in 2004. The company was also fined with 12 million won.

The judge explained that the ruling was made as the field that was used was not small and had been using it for a long time, but they are reflecting on themselves and have restored some parts of the fields.


17년간 산지 불법 전용 60대 징역형

제주시내 한 임야에서
허가를 받지 않은 채 자생식물을 제거한 후
암석을 적치하는 등의 산지를 전용한 혐의로 기소된
61살 이 모 피고인에게
징역 1년 4월에 집행유예 2년을,
해당 업체에 벌금 1천 200만원을 선고했습니다.

심 판사는 판결문에서
무단으로 전용한 산지의 면적이 적지 않고
전용기간 또한 상당히 오래됐지만
일부를 복구했고
반성하고 있어 이같이 선고한다고 판시했습니다.
