All Royalties Donated to Jeju Olle

By scanning the barcode, you access the webpage that raises funds for the creation of wheelchair accessible trails.


More than 10 million won was collected by the QR code-based fundraiser last year which was designed to receive donations from bank accounts as people just don't carry cash nowadays.
Another fresh way of donations by an author is attracting attention.


(예종석) Ye Jong-suk, an honorary professor at (한양) Hanyang University, and the former chair of the Community Chest of Korea, has decided to donate all of the royalties of his recently published book "Secrets to Winning Elections" to the Jeju Olle Foundation.
His donation is to financially help the non-governmental foundation, and encourage people to share what they have with others in diverse ways.

I hope my donation will prime the pump and encourage people to look at organizations which need financial help and share with others in diverse ways.


The Jeju Olle Foundation will use Professor (예)Ye's royalties donation, which will be delivered through the Community Chest of Korea, to improve the local community's welfare, such as improving the Olle Trails for the mobility-impaired.

We will use the meaningful donation, which is from the author's devotion to the book and will be collected in a creative way, to make the Olle Trails friendly to wheelchair users.


Fresh and creative means of donation by using new devices or methods are contributing to encouraging people to share with others.



'인세 전액' 제주올레에 기부

제주올레 여행자센터 입구에 QR코드 하나가 마련돼 있습니다.

올레길 휠체어 구간 조성을 위한
디지털 페이를 기반으로 한 QR코드 모금입니다.


최근 현금을 가지고 다니지 않는 점 등을 고려해 추진한 방식인데
지난해 1천만 원이 넘는 금액이 모금됐습니다.

책을 통한 이색적인 기부도 눈길을 끌고 있습니다.


얼마전까지
사회복지모금회 중앙회장이었던 예종석 한양대 명예교수가
최근 출간한 자신의 책
'당선비책'의 인세 전액을
제주올레에 기부하기로 했습니다.

민간 차원에서 운영되는
제주올레의 재정적인 부분을 돕고
새롭고 다양한 기부 방식를 알려
기부 문화를 확산하기 위해서입니다.

"인세를 기부함으로 해서 우리 사회에 이런 곳에도 기부가 필요하다, 이런 기부도 좀 있어야 된다는 걸 알리고 싶은 마중물 역할을 해야 되겠다는 생각으로 기부를 하게 되었습니다."


제주올레는
앞으로 사회복지공동모금회를 통해 전달받게 될
예 교수의 인세 기부금으로
이동약자들을 위한 올레길 개선 등
지역사회 복지 증진을 위해 활용하기로 했습니다.
