Cultural Welfare Center to be Established in Aewol

The cultural welfare center including a pet funeral facility will be established at (어음) Eoeum2-ri, Aewol-eup.

The provincial office has finalized the site for the project of establishing a cultural welfare center
through a competition and Eoeum 2-ri has been selected.

The center is expected to be completed in 2024
with an investment of 9 billion won, and it will include an animal shelter and a pet funeral facility.

This will be the first pet funeral facility in Jeju.

The province expects this project to help solve animal management issues, such as Animal euthanasia caused by lots of abandoned pets.



제주 첫 동물장묘시설 포함 복지문화센터 조성

제주시 애월읍 어음2리에
동물 장묘시설을 포함한 복지문화센터가 조성됩니다.

제주특별자치도는 반려동물 복지문화센터 조성사업에 따른 공모를 거쳐
유치를 희망한 애월읍 어음2리를 최종 사업지로 확정했습니다.

이에따라 이 지역에 사업비 90억원을 투입해
동물보호센터와 공설 동물장묘시설 등의
시설을 신축하게 되며
오는 2024년 완공을 목표로 추진됩니다.

특히 동물장묘시설은 제주 첫 사례입니다.

제주도는 이번 사업을 통해
유기동물 과포화 상태로 인한 안락사 등
관리문제를 해결할 수 있을 것으로 기대하고 있습니다.
