Sign Language Video for Emergencies

The Jeju provincial government will produce videos in addition to Emergency Alert Messages for hearing impaired people for the first time in the nation.

Thus, a sign language video of the emergency messages will be made available with specialized interpreters. Messages and videos will then be sent to the hearing imparied when an emergency situation occurs.

The videos will be produced for eight natural disaster situations including tsunamis, heavy snowfalls, cold snaps, earthquakes, heat waves and fine dust. Operations will take effect beginning in March.

The province will expand the production of sign language videos to 35 emergency situations in stages.

상황이 발생할 경우
문자와 수어영상을 동시에 발송하게 됩니다.

수어영상은
해일과 대설, 한파, 미세먼지, 지진, 폭염 등
자연재난 8종에 대해 제작되며
오는 3월부터 운영하게 됩니다.

제주도는 앞으로 수어영상 제공을
사회재난 35종으로
단계적으로 확대할 계획입니다.
