90% of Tourists Travel Jeju Independently

90% of last year’s Jeju tourists traveled the island independently, not traveling in a group.

According to the Jeju Tourism Association, the number of domestic tourists visiting Jeju was 11.96 million
and 48,000 for international tourists in 2021.
The total number of people traveling the island amounts to 12 million,
which is a 17.3% increase compared to the year before.

In particular, the proportion of individual travelers in domestic tourists recorded 92.1%, which is a 9.4% point increase
compared to 2019 which was prior to the COVID-19 outbreak.

In addition, partial package tours which sell flights,
accommodations and rental cars altogether
account for 5.4%.

This is a 3.3% point rise from the year before.

지난해 제주를 방문한 관광객 10명 중 9명은
패키지가 아닌 개별 여행을 한 것으로 조사됐습니다.

제주도관광협회에 따르면
지난해 입도 관광객은
내국인 1천 196만여 명과 외국인 4만 8천여 명 등
모두 1천 200만 8천 400여 명으로
전년보다 17.3% 증가했습니다.

특히 내국인 가운데 개별 여행객 비율은
코로나19 이전인 2019년과 비교해 9.4% 포인트 증가한
92.1%를 기록했습니다.

이와함께 항공과 숙박, 렌터카 등을 묶어서 판매하는
부분 패키지 여행객도 5.4%로
전년보다 3.3% 포인트 늘었습니다.
