Stalking Increases by 5 times

It has been more than 100 days since the Stalking Punishment Act has been in effect, and the number of reports in Jeju has increased by more than five fold.

According to the Jeju Police Agency, the police have received a total of 166 reports on stalking through its emergency situation rooms
from October 21st of last year to January 31st.

83 cases were charged with the crimes
and 59 of them are considered to be serious cases.
Provisional measures were used including
using detention rooms and banning approaches to victims.

The police are dealing with female crimes,
including stalking, with 3 danger levels according to the response system.

법 시행 전보다 5배 이상 증가했습니다.

제주경찰청에 따르면
지난해 10월 21일부터 지난 31일까지
제주경찰청 112상황실로
모두 166건의 스토킹 신고가 접수됐습니다.

경찰은 이 가운데 83건을 형사입건해
범행의 정도가 심한 59건에 대해서는
유치장 유치와 접근금지 등 잠정조치 결정했습니다.

경찰은 스토킹범죄 등 여성범죄에 대해서는
민감대응시스템에 따라
위험단계를 총 3단계로 나눠 조치하고 있습니다.
