Police Eyes on Alcohol-Related Crimes

As the number of alcohol-related violent crimes increases recently, the police will organize a special investigation team dealing with the crimes.

Thus, the Jeju Police Agency will designate a team of detectives
as the investigation team at each police station.

The police plans to strictly respond to alcohol-related violent crimes depending on the seriousness of crimes.

Meanwhile, the yearly average number of alcohol-related crimes in Jeju has recorded 789 per 100,000 people in the past five years
and this is more than 34% higher than the national average, which is 520.

경찰, 주취폭력 엄정 대응…전담 수사팀 운영

최근 술에 취해 행패를 부리는 등
주취폭력이 빈번하게 발생함에 따라
경찰이 전담 수사팀을 편성해 운영합니다.

이에따라 제주경찰청은
각 경찰서 별로 형사 1개 팀을
주취폭력 수사전담팀으로 지정해
범행 정도에 따라
구속 수사를 진행하는 등 엄정히 대응할 방침입니다.

한편, 최근 5년동안 인구 10만 명 당 발생하는
주취폭력 범죄를 살펴보면
제주지역은 연평균 789명으로
전국 520명 보다 34% 이상 높은 것으로 집계됐습니다.
