49 More Classes at Local Schools

The number of classes at local elementary schools increased by 49, but the number of students decreased.

The Province Office of Education has finalized class organization for this year, and the total number of classes this year is 1,817 which is an increase of 49 compared to last year.

Meanwhile, the number of students this year decreased by 159 to 41,169.

Hence, it is expected that the number of oversized classes will decrease by 248, leading a ratio of oversized classes in local elementary schools to be 10.7, which shows a decrease from last year’s 25%.




초등학교 49학급 증설…과밀학급 10.7%로 낮아져

올해 제주지역 초등학교 학생 수는 줄어든 반면
학급 수는 지난해보다 49개 늘어났습니다.

제주도교육청이 2022학년도 초등학교 학급편성을 최종 마무리한 결과
전체 학급은 1천817학급으로 전년 보다 49학급이 증가했습니다.

반면 학생수는 4만1천169명으로
지난해보다 159명이 줄었습니다.

이에 따라 과밀학급도 248학급이 해소되면서
도내 초등학교 과밀학급 비율은 지난해 25%에서
10.7% 수준으로 감소했습니다.
