Pet Neutering Project Underway

A project supporting pet neutering will be pushed forward this year as well to prevent overbreeding of alley cats.

The Jeju City and Seogwipo City offices will invest 220 million won and 108 million won, respectively in neutering 3,000 alley cats.

The offices will install animal traps at the areas where a lot of alley cats have been reported seen to capture alley cats and release them after being neutered or spayed.

Approximately 2000 animals were neutered or spayedin Jeju City last year and 980 in Seogwipo.



올해 길고양이 3천마리 중성화 사업 추진

길고양이들의 과잉 번식을 막기 위한 중성화 수술 사업이
올해도 추진됩니다.

제주시와 서귀포시는
올해 각각 2억 2천여 만원과 1억 800만원의 예산을 투입해
길고양이 3천마리에 대해 중성화 수술을 진행하기로 했습니다.

이에따라 민원이 많은 지역에 포획틀을 설치해 포획한 후에
중성화 수술을 마치고 방사할 계획입니다.

제주시는 지난해 2천여 마리,
서귀포시는 980여 마리를 중성화 수술했습니다.
