4·3 Trauma Center Promotion Progress Slow

The provincial government has pushed forward to promote the April 3rd Incident Trauma Center to a national center, but the process shows little progress compared to other regions.

According to the province, as the related law for establishment and operation of a national trauma treatment center was enacted in December 2021, the process of constructing a national trauma center in Gwangju City is ongoing along with the Ministry of Public Administration and Security.

Meanwhile, the Jeju April 3rd Incident Trauma Center has not received any response yet from Seoul in regards to its upgrade, even though the current pilot project is already facing capacity limitations.

As President Moon Jae-in promised to promote the April 3rd Incident Trauma Center to a national trauma center during last year’s commemoration ceremony, the provincial office will continue to request to move forward and negotiate with the Ministry of Public Administration and Security.



4·3트라우마센터 국립 승격 약속에도 추진 더뎌

제주도가 4.3트라우마센터를
국립 센터로 승격하는 방안을 추진하고 있지만
다른지역과 달리 더딘 속도를 보이고 있습니다.

제주도 등에 따르면,
지난해 12월 국가폭력 트라우마 치유센터 설립 운영법이
제정됨에 따라 광주에서는 행정안전부와 함께
내년 국립 트라우마센터 건립을 위한
관련 절차가 추진 중입니다.

반면 제주 4.3트라우마센터의 경우 현재 시범사업 규모로는
이용자 수용에 한계를 보이고 있지만
국립 센터 승격은 정부로부터 확답을 받지 못한 상황입니다.

제주도는 지난해 4.3추념식에서
문재인 대통령이 국립 트라우마센터 승격을
약속한 만큼 행안부에 지속적인 요청과 절충을 이어갈 방침입니다.
