40 Years of Accident-Free Flying

The Patrol Squadron 615 has made the record of accident-free flying for 40 years since its establishment in 1982.

According to the Navy, the Patrol Squadron 615 also achieved another record of patrolling 15.3 million kilometers, which is equal to traveling around the Earth 380 times.

The patrol squadron is based at Jeju Air Station
and operates P-3 maritime patrol flights
to conduct various missions,
such as marine patrols in southwest sea
and protection of sea traffic routes.

해군 615비행대대가
지난 1982년 제주에서 부대 창설 후
40년 무사고 비행기록을 달성했습니다.

해군에 따르면
615비행대대는 무사고와 함께
지구 약 380바퀴에 해당하는
1천530만km의 초계기록도 달성했습니다.

제주 항공기지에서 창설된 615대대는
현재 P-3 해상초계기를 운용하면서
제주도와 한반도 서남해역 해상 초계비행과 탐색,
해상교통로 보호 등 다양한 임무를 수행하고 있습니다.
