Promotional Videos to Promote Haenyeo Culture

A promotional video to promote the culture of Jeju Haenyeo women divers has been produced. The culture of Jeju’s Haenyeo is listed as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

The Cultural Heritage Administration and Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation released the promotional video for Jeju Haenyeo under the title “Keeping The Tradition Alive” and is available on YouTube.

(서경덕) Seo Kyoung-duk, professor at Sungshin Women's University, planned out the video and a singer (윤도현) Yoon Do-hyun narrated the video. This video introduces the values of the culture of Jeju Haenyeo, along with the hard work of the women divers and their community culture.

English subtitles have also been created for the videos and they plan to publicize Jeju Haenyeo’s culture through sharing the video with overseas Koreans and the international student communities.

제주해녀 홍보 영상을
유튜브를 통해 공개했습니다.

성신여대 서경덕 교수가 기획하고
가수 윤도현이 내래이션을 맡은 이 영상은
해녀 물질과 공동체 문화를 통해
제주해녀문화의 가치를 소개하고 있습니다.

문화재청과 한국문화재재단은
해당 영상에 영어 자막을 달고
각국 재외동포와
유학생 커뮤니티에 공유해
해녀문화를 전 세계에 알릴 방침입니다.
