Neglected Imported EVs Sold via Auction

200 imported electric vehicles that were at a court auction due to the bankruptcy of rental car companies were sold to bidders.

Articles for sale included 200 BMW i3 EVs
and out of them, 168 vehicles were sold on the 15th at the court auction
at the price of between 1 million and 18 million won.
The sale procedure is currently ongoing.

Most bidders were used car dealers in other regions.

The rental car company had neglected electric vehicles that the firm bought with government’s subsidies of 20 million won per vehicle
at mid-mountainous areas,
as the companies went bankrupt
due to the deterioration of business.

렌터카 회사 부도로 법원 경매에 나왔던
수입 전기차 200대가 무더기로 낙찰됐습니다.

경매 매물로 올라온 전기차는
BMW i3 전기차 200대로
지난 15일 법원 경매에서
168대가 적게는 100만 원대에서 많게는
1천 8백만 원대에 낙찰돼
매각 절차가 진행되고 있습니다.

낙찰자는 대부분
다른 지역 중고차 매매업자로
알려졌습니다.

해당 전기차들은
모 렌터카 업체가
대당 2천여 만원의
정부 보조금을 받아 구입한 것으로
경영 악화로 부도가 나자
중산간에 방치됐던 차량들입니다.
